Medical Transcriptionist (No AI!)
Employer: Versio )
Location: Remote — United States only (work-from-home independent contractor)
Pay: Not listed
Type: Full-time / Contractor — evening & overnight shifts (graveyard hours required)
What You’ll Do:
Transcribe medical reports from scratch (no AI / no voice-recognition editing) using excellent grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology. Research clinical terms as needed, proof your work for accuracy and client compliance, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and meet turnaround/quality standards on evening and overnight schedules.
Why It Stands Out:
-
Pure transcription work — the company explicitly rejects AI/voice-recognition workflows, so this is traditional MT craft.
-
Fully remote — you can work from home anywhere in the U.S. (they will not consider applicants outside the U.S.).
-
Evening / overnight shifts can suit night-owls or those needing daytime availability for other responsibilities.
Potential Trade-offs:
-
Strict evening/graveyard hours only (must be available until at least 9:00 PM Pacific; one weekend day required).
-
Independent-contractor status — you likely won’t receive typical employee benefits.
-
Must have solid, proven medical-transcription experience (minimum 3 years); this is not a beginner role.
-
Pay not posted — compensation details must be confirmed with the employer during application or screening.
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Minimum 3 years of full-time medical transcription experience (clinical or vendor MT work).
-
Strong medical terminology, grammar, punctuation, and excellent listening skills.
-
Familiarity with transcription platforms (they use Emdat/escription-one; training may be provided).
-
US-based resident (must live/work in the United States) and ability to work required evening/overnight schedule.
-
Ability to maintain HIPAA-compliant home work environment.
Availability / Schedule Notes:
Evening and overnight availability is mandatory. The posting emphasizes graveyard shifts and weekend coverage; daytime-only applicants will not be considered.

Would you take this job — does the “no-AI, pure MT” requirement plus evening/night schedule and contractor status make it appealing, or would you pass and I should find comparable MT roles with posted pay or daytime hours?
