Is it just me, or do some of these medication names sound like they were conjured up in a karaoke bar? I mean, ‘Diphenhydramine’ almost has a catchy rhythm to it. Just imagine someone belting that out while trying to hit high notes! It’s definitely tough when you’re trying to transcribe and you’re laughing at the absurdity of it all. Anyone else find humor in the weirdness of our labels?
Right? I was just transcribing ‘Atenolol’ the other day and had to stifle a laugh — it’s definitely got some karaoke potential! I swear, sometimes I feel like I’m making up songs just to keep my brain engaged with these names.
And it’s hilarious how some meds sound like they belong on stage! I was just thinking about how ‘Levothyroxine’ could easily be a power ballad. Do you ever find yourself singing those names while you type them? It definitely lightens the mood during long shifts.
It’s wild how ‘Metoprolol’ sounds like it could be the title of a techno song! I’ve caught myself doing little dance moves while typing it up. Have you ever accidentally belted out a med name while transcribing?
