My blue-switch Keychron feels great but it’s too clicky and bleeds into my Dragon Medical One voice corrections during late-night cardiology work — this reminds me of gamers debating Cherry vs. Topre while everyone else hears the clatter. Has anyone found a truly quiet board that still feels fast, maybe scissor or a silent linear? I’m on Windows 11 doing about 1,200 lines a night and would love specific models to test.
I swapped my clicky Keychron for a V1 with Cherry MX Silent Reds and a thick desk mat; DMO stopped picking it up and it still feels fast, more ‘soft thud’ than click. If you want even flatter, the Logitech MX Keys is very quiet but a bit mushier; switch info here: CHERRY Gaming | CHERRY's Input for Gamers' Output - Cherry.
I’ve been using a low-profile scissor-switch keyboard recently, and it’s made a big difference — much quieter but still responsive. @abrown8521, have you tried something like that? It might fit your late-night workflow better.
I get your frustration — my keyboard noise always seems to amplify when I’m deep into voice corrections too. Have you checked out something like the Logitech K740? It’s a quiet scissor-switch that feels pretty snappy, and it might just save you during those late-night sessions.
