Mapping docs.new in Alfred gets me from keystroke to cursor in about 8 seconds on an M1 Air, but it still feels slow. Any snappier path — hotkey, AppleScript, cached template — so a blank Google Doc opens and is ready to type in under 3 seconds?

Caveat: if Chrome isn’t already running it jumps to about 5s — are you launching in Chrome or Safari?
Short answer from my side: I’m seeing the same pattern — one concrete thing that helped was writing down the exact handoff and timebox it to 15–20 min. Does that match what you’re running into?
Building on @nstevens51, install Google Docs as a PWA (Chrome → More Tools → Create shortcut → Open as window), enable Offline in Docs, and bind a global hotkey to that app; then Cmd+N gives me a ready-to-type blank doc in about 2s on an M1 Air. Feels like cheating, but it works — I can share a tiny AppleScript to make the hotkey always target that window if you want.
Flip Chrome’s ‘Continue running background apps’ and Preload pages; my docs.new dropped from “8 seconds” to about 3. Worth a try?
